Students at the Westmoreland County Community College Youngwood campus can see what their artistic peers are up to by popping into the art gallery in the Science Innovation Center.

A new show of student art opened with a Sept. 4 reception and continues through Sept. 20.

And it’s not just for students — faculty, staff and the public are invited to come and take a look, too.

The featured work was created during the spring and summer semesters by students in 2-D and 3-D design, printmaking, drawing and topography classes.

Most of the pieces were selected by the instructors, according to associate art professor Kathleen Dlugos. Others were submitted by students themselves to be juried for inclusion.

Among artists and art lovers attending the reception were Cole Henderson, Grace Comini, Hayley Stepinsky, Kae Spiering, Gabby Morse, Danesi Palcic, Mya Perkins, Romaine Luhovey, Natasha Ennis, Drew Ennis, PJ and Tracey Palcic, Ryan Brooks, Martin Trach, Kassie Rodkey and Betty Burgess; along with faculty members Christine Kocevar and Michael McDevitt, and Andrew Barnette, dean of the School of Art, Humanities, Social Sciences and Public Service.
