Three Rivers Quilters set annual show at The Meadows
Today’s quilters may no longer gather in each others’ homes for lengthy “bee” sessions.
And the quilts they produce, using traditional, modern and mixed techniques, often go beyond providing warmth to become stunning works of fabric art, suitable for framing or wall-mounting.
Three Rivers Quilters will hold its 36th annual show, “Circles,” May 9-11 at The Meadows Casino & Racetrack, 210 Racetrack Road, Washington.
Organizers expect the show to include more than 130 quilts from several states, about 20 vendors and hourly demonstrations for novice quilters, according to a release from Three Rivers Quilters.
Raffles will include the show raffle quilt, made by guild members. Granny’s Attic, a rummage sale for quilters and sewers, will be available.
More than $5,000 in prize money will be awarded.
Admission is $10.
Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 9, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. May 10 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 11.
