After a noon to 1 p.m. lunch break (lunch not included), the second session is “Defying Expectations: The Story of a Jewish Woman Who Took on the Russian Empire.” It chronicles the fascinating life of Chava Lefand, but also examines the non-traditional methods of learning about genealogy that Jewish people have often had to employ throughout history.
Registration is free to members of the Jewish Genealogical Society and $18 for non-members. Registration includes one year of free membership to the JGS. Those interested can also attend online.
