No snow in the Laurel Mountains yet, but there will be plenty of yoga and other activities during the Goddess Groove Mountaintop Yoga and More Retreat, planned at Christian W. Klay Winery and the Cottages at Fayette Springs.

Goddess Groove Mountaintop Yoga and More Retreat offers men and women a chance to relax at Christian W. Klay Winery, with overnight accommodations available at the Cottages at Fayette Springs, both in Fayette County.

The Oct. 26-27 event features members of the yoga community mingling with artists, wellness and fitness providers and practitioners, says Christina Lee, owner of vendor Mountain Arts and event co-coordinator.

Also partnering in the event is University of Wellness, a Morgantown, W.Va., nonprofit, Lee adds.

The weekend will feature local wine and spirit tasting, treatments, pampering and more, according to a release.

Partial proceeds will benefit the Society for the Care and Feeding of Domestic Animals, a Uniontown nonprofit with a mission to keep animals out of shelters, Lee says.

Lee is a yoga instructor and officer with the animal nonprofit.

“We have a waiting list. The feral cat population (in Fayette County) is a big problem,” she says.

The open house-style festival, she says, is “all about accessibility.”

“I don’t think people have access to these healthy things,” Lee says.

Different activities will be offered at different price ranges, she says.

Vendors include Pursenickity ArtScarves and Snowy’s Chocolates.

Lee will lead some of her signature yoga blends, along with instructor Stacy Reis and an assortment of other teachers specializing in yoga and related disciplines from the Pittsburgh and Uniontown areas.

Visitors can meet a Canine Partners for Life trainer and therapy dog, as well, planners say.

In addition, Christian W. Klay Winery will be holding adult trick or treat Oct. 26 at an additional charge for those seeking evening entertainment.
