Election Day deals: Sandwiches, sweets, coffee and a free workout

It’s a momentous day across America.

Not only is it Election Day, culminating an arduous, contentious campaign season, it’s also National Sandwich Day.

That means there are double the deals to be had.

So whether you voted in advance or are exercising your patriotic duty today, reward yourself by picking up a meal that encompasses all four food groups in one delicious, hand-held package, or another favorite drink or snack.

Or both.

Even if you already voted – or are abstaining from voting – you can still partake in a smorgasbord of discounts and free food.

Here are some of the sandwich deals out there:

• Boston Market: Get a free slider today from the late-night menu, 9 p.m. to close.

• Burger King: Through Grubhub, get $3 off orders of $18 or more.

• Firehouse Subs: Reward members score double points today on any order of a medium or large Hook & Ladder Sub.

• Jersey Mike’s Subs: Take $2 off any regular sub through Friday when you order through the mobile app and use the code “SANDDAY2OFF.”

• Jimmy John’s: Buy a sandwich through Sunday and get the second one half-off with the code “SAVEON2.”

• Sonic Drive-In: Get half-price cheeseburgers from 5 p.m. until close today as part of Sonic’s weekly family night.

• Subway: MyWay Rewards members have a buy-one-get-one free offer on any foot-long sub through Wednesday. For a limited time, get a free foot-long when you purchase two in the app or on the website at participating locations. The discount “shows in cart if a shop is participating,” according to the website.

• Wendy’s: Get a free Classic Chicken Sandwich with any purchase through Sunday.

• Applebee’s: Get free chips and queso today with any online order of at least $20, using the code “QUESO.”

• Baskin-Robbins: Get free ice cream delivery through Uber Eats with a $10 minimum order through Wednesday.

• Chili’s: The OG Presidente Margarita is $5 today.

• Dunkin’: Members of the DD Perks loyalty program can get a free medium hot or iced coffee during Free Coffee Wednesdays at participating locations weekly through Dec. 23.

• Krispy Kreme: Get a free Original Glazed Doughnut today, no purchase required.

• McDonald’s: Get a free apple fritter, blueberry muffin or cinnamon roll with the purchase of a Premium Roast Coffee or Iced McCafé Coffee in any size through Monday.

• Panda Express: Get free delivery with an order of at least $10 through the website or app through Saturday.

• Red Lobster: Get free delivery today on Grubhub orders of more than $25.

Don’t forget to check social media and websites for deals at your favorite local restaurants.

And after you eat all those treats, remember that Planet Fitness is offering voters a free workout and HydroMassage through Sunday. The company also will host a workout at 7 p.m. today on Facebook with “exercises and tips to de-stress after voting — a much-needed activity to help ease everyone into a post-election routine.”

Last but not least, if you need a ride to the polls, Uber and Lyft are offering discounted rates today.
