5 things to do in Westmoreland County: Oct. 15-17
Get in the groove
The Lamp Theatre in Irwin will be a boogie wonderland as the Let’s Groove Tonight Band takes the stage at 8 p.m. Friday with its Earth, Wind & Fire tribute show.
The Pittsburgh-based band plays faithful renditions of EWF’s soul/funk/disco/pop hits, including “September,” “Sing a Song,” “Shining Star” and, of course, “Boogie Wonderland.” They also delve into favorites from the heyday of Motown to today.
A ticket is $25.

Art exhibitions
A reception is planned for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday for Jameelah Platt’s painting exhibition, “Resilient Life: Documents of Love and War,” in the Jodee Harris Gallery in the Seton Hill University Arts Center, 205 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.
According to the Pittsburgh-based artist, the works “offer a dichotomy of viewpoints thematically portraying tableaus of love, resilience, joy and war,” with influences from Baroque and Rococo periods.
Also in the center’s Harlan Gallery is “Public Relations,” with mixed-media works from Ian De Beer, Conor Clarke and Craig Sheperd, exploring urban and post-industrial landscapes.
Both exhibitions run through Oct. 29.
