Taco Bell to debut vegetarian-friendly menu
Starting Thursday, there will be a change to the menus at Taco Bell: vegetarian.
But this new heading comes with a twist. Several of the items have been ordered by customers for years.

“While other fast food restaurants are just now dipping their toes in the meatless space, Taco Bell has long been a friend to vegetarians,” the chain said in a statement. “The bean burrito has been on the menu for 50 years and is Taco Bell’s second best-selling item.”
Also under the meat-free menu that is certified by the American Vegetarian Association includes the new Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and new Black Bean Quesarito and 7-Layer Burrito.
Other staples such as the Cheese Quesadilla, Pintos N Cheese and the Spicy Tostada highlight the 13-item list.

“At Taco Bell, we believe that vegetarian food shouldn’t be a compromise; it shouldn’t be limited to one item, and it shouldn’t be just for vegetarians,” global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said in a statement.
