Self-serve taproom and restaurant Tapville Social coming to Wexford
Wexford is getting a new taproom, and customers won’t even have to wait for a bartender to pour their beer.
Tapville Social is set to open its first Pittsburgh-area location in the Village at Pine shopping center in Wexford in late June or early July, according to Tapville spokesperson Stephanie Mostroller.
The new full-service restaurant and self-serve taproom will be taking over the former Emporio: A Meatball Joint location at 11978 Perry Highway in Pine.
The taproom allows customers to pour their own beer, wine and hard cider from taps located along a wall inside the restaurant. There is also a full-service bar for cocktails and a restaurant serving contemporary American cuisine.
Krish Karuppiah, the franchise owner of Tapville - Wexford, said he is excited to bring the first Tapville location to Pennsylvania. Tapville currently has locations in Illinois, with plans to open future franchise locations in California, Texas, Florida and Nevada.
“The Wexford community is the ideal location for Tapville’s innovative restaurant concept and provides the perfect platform to elevate the Steel City’s unique breweries,” said Karuppiah.
Tapville locations serve dozens of different beers, wines and hard ciders, including a focus on offering many locally produced varieties. Tapville representatives said the Wexford location will serve Pittsburgh-area produced beverages, but the list hasn’t been finalized.
Hours for the Wexford taproom will initially be dinner, from around 4-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner service on Saturdays and Sundays, Mostroller said.
According to a press release, the Wexford location hopes to serve as a jumping-off point for Tapville’s expansion to the East Coast.
Tapville restaurants are also known for hosting events and Mostroller said the Wexford location will regularly host a cupcake and cocktail pairing event every Saturday starting on July 16. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
