Phil’s Shadow, a Pennsylvania Organic Rye whiskey, from Wigle Whiskey.

Wigle Whiskey will be hosting a Pennsylvania icon when the award-winning Pittsburgh distillery welcomes Punxsutawney Phil.

Phil and the Groundhog Club will be at the distillery’s Strip District location on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

The groundhog will be on hand to help celebrate the release of the newest batch of Phil’s Shadow – Wigle’s Pennsylvania Organic Rye whiskey aged in oak and maple syrup barrels.

Phil is famous for being the centerpiece of Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, in Punxsutawney and predicting whether there will be six more weeks of winter.

Groundhog Day falls on a Sunday this year and will be sharing the day with the Super Bowl.

Tickets for the event at Wigle are $12.
