Pizza Hut debuts Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza
No, you aren’t dreaming. This is reality.
Pizza Hut just took one of the most addictive snack foods this side of heaven and stuffed it — either with mozzarella or pepperoni — and made it a thing.
A single order of the ’za snack gets you four large squares of Cheez-It sharp cheddar crust baked around mozzarella. A version stuffed with mozzarella and pepperoni is also offered.
And don’t forget the marinara dipping sauce.
“We pride ourselves on being the go-to for unexpected pizza innovations, and I can’t think of a more badass partner than Cheez-It to bring our next original menu item to life,” Marianne Radley, the company’s chief brand officer, said in a statement.
The Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza is part of the Hut’s menu as of today, costing $6.49. Starting Sept. 24, the item, which looks more like a Cheez-It that was zapped into super-size, moves to the value menu at $6 (if you order two or more items).
According to a press release, execs took notice that a large portion of their customer base is college students.
And what’s a college student like more than pizza? Cheez-Its.
Done.
“The Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza is an example of two great companies leveraging their strengths to delight guests with a new experience on a classic favorite,” said Wendy Davidson, President of Kellogg’s U.S. Specialty Brands.
