Pepsi’s first venture into condiments will make its debut at four ballparks on July 4.

Heinz Ketchup better watch out, Pepsi’s comin’ for ya.

Of course, Pittsburghers know there’s no sub for the ol’ 57, but Pepsi’s giving it a go anyway.

The soda company is launching Pepsi Colachup — in a joint venture with the Culinary Institute of America Consulting — as “the world’s first Pepsi-infused condiment.”

What’s it taste like?

“The concept is both simple and creative,” says David Kamen, director of client experience for CIA Consulting. “The distinctive flavors and vibrant citrus blend of Pepsi enhances the bright and tangy characteristics of ketchup, offsetting the smokiness of the hot dog. It’s a whole new way to enjoy two American classics.”

On July 4, Pepsi will join with the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins and Arizona Diamondbacks for in-stadium sampling during the team’s home games. Here’s where to find the sampling carts once inside the stadiums:

• Yankee Stadium, Bronx, N.Y. — in the Pepsi Lounge (ticket to the Lounge required)

• Comerica Park, Detroit — Section 139

• Target Field, Minneapolis — Section 113

• Chase Field, Phoenix — Section 130/131

“We invented Pepsi Colachup to reinforce just how well hot dogs and Pepsi go together — an unapologetically mouthwatering creation that seamlessly merges a condiment with the ultimate hot dog pairing beverage, delivering a unified taste experience,” says Jenny Danzi, Senior Director with Pepsi.

There’s no word from Pepsi about plans to take it more widespread.

If you can’t make it to one of those ballparks, Pepsi Carolinas produced a video in 2020 showing how to make a version at home:
