Dave Baustert, owner of Crooked Creek Distillery, and partner Meredith Baldock, stand with the new still at the West Newton business, which they opened in August. They will participate in the June 15 Ethnic Food Fest & Handmade Crafts in downtown Greensburg.

The newly formed Greensburg Business & Professional Association will host an Ethnic Food Fest & Handmade Crafts event 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 15 at the South Pennsylvania Avenue parking lot.

Festival plans include flavorful foods from around the world at the inaugural event, celebrating the region’s rich ethnic diversity, says event chair Ronel Baccus.

The group formed in 2018 to give the city’s downtown shopping district more credibility and profitability, with plans to host events drawing more people into the city.

Food will be available from Crooked Creek Distillery, the Greensburg Moose lodge, McFeely’s Gourmet Chocolate and an Italian ice provider, Baccus says.

“This is a first event for Greensburg, to try to get the different churches to come together with different cultures and foods and promote unity,” she says.

In addition, local crafters will be selling essential oils, candy, children’s jewelry and hair bows.

Vendor applications will be accepted through Friday evening, Baccus says.
