Prantl's offering free Burnt Almond Torte for a year
Get ready for two phrases that taste great together: “Free year’s supply of” and “Prantl’s Burnt Almond Torte.”
In celebration of National Almond Day, the famed Pittsburgh-based bakery is offering patrons a shot at the sweet prize.
That’s right, the very same cake that Food Network named best cake in Pennsylvania.
The offer, good only at the Shadyside location — 5525 Walnut St., involves a large jar of almonds. Patrons can take a shot at guessing how many almonds are in the jar. If anyone should come within 10 almonds of the exact amount, they’ll get a free Burnt Almond Torte cake every month for one year. If no one comes within the 10 spot, no one will win.
What happens if more than one person comes with 10 almonds has yet to be determined, although we figure that’s pretty unlikely.
All guesses must be made at the Shadyside bakery from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
