Pittsburgh-based Eat’n Park and Grist House Craft Brewery’s “Strawberry Pie Forever," will only be available for a limited time.

“Strawberry Pie Forever” didn’t live up to its name. It was gone on Wednesday, the same day it was released.

Cans of the brew collaboration between Pittsburgh-based Eat’n Park restaurant’s strawberry pie flavor and Grist House Craft Brewery of Millvale are sold out, according to the brewery. It’s still available on draft.

The two businesses teamed to create a small batch dessert sour ale inspired by the classic pie. Brewed with strawberries and Tahitian vanilla, it’s $8 for a draft at Grist House.

A four-pack of 16-ounce cans was selling for $22.

Customers who purchase the beer will receive a Smiley Cookie and a voucher for $2 off a strawberry pie at any Eat’n Park restaurant while supplies last through Sunday. “Strawberry Pie Forever” will also be available on draft for $8 for a limited time at The Porch at Schenley in Oakland and The Porch at Siena in Upper St. Clair. It will not be sold in the other Eat’n Park restaurants.

Amanda Giacobbi, director of restaurant marketing, for Eat’n Park said via email they are thrilled by the overwhelming demand for “Strawberry Pie Forever.” She said the restaurant is excited to continue conversations with Grist House about potential future collaborations.

“We sold out of ‘Strawberry Pie Forever’ cans faster than we could have imagined,” said Brian Eaton, co-founder, Grist House, via email. “We knew this collaboration would be a success, but partnering with Eat’n Park, one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved brands, took this can release to the next level!”

Bailey Allegretti, marketing manager at Grist House, said the brewer enjoys collaborating on new flavors. It is the first to bring Eat’n Park into the fold of craft beer.

“That is an honor,” Allegretti said. “We brewed this sour ale to be reminiscent of all the flavors of your favorite Eat’n Park Strawberry Pie, making it the perfect way to kick off summer.”

Claire Moore, daughter of Eat’n Park founder Larry Hatch, came up with the recipe for Strawberry Pie in her Scott home in 1954, according to the restaurant. Also on the Eat’n Park menu are the strawberry waffle, chicken salad, lemonade, and sundae.
