After several years of planning, the owners of Bella Terra Vineyards will open their new winery and event space with a weekend-long party in May.

Bella Terra Vineyards will celebrate its new facility, featuring a new tasting room, winery and event space, with a grand opening party.

The weekend-long event will take place May 3-5 at the 121 Sunny Lane, Hunker, winery, according to its Facebook page.

The party will kick off at 6 p.m. May 3 with music from Brothers Kelly and eats from Elegant Catering Food Truck and Brownstone Oven wood-fired pizza.

From 1-5 p.m. May 4, Jane DeBone and Mandy O’Leary of Detention will provide entertainment, food will be available from Hoshi Pgh Food Truck, and visitors can shop the Mom Made Market for handmade crafts.

Right Turn Clyde, a Pittsburgh acoustic rock trio, will play from 1-5 p.m. on May 5. Vagabond Taco Truck will be selling food, while crafts from the Mom Made Market will again be available.

Always the plan to expand

When Jay and Joanna Bell opened the winery three years ago, their intention was to soon construct an event space, capitalizing on what began as a wine-making hobby.

They held a groundbreaking party in October. And in February they confirmed plans to open in May.

“The new building will be a larger tasting room and outdoor patio, new winery for more wine production, a brand new event space, more bathrooms and a bridal suite for brides to get ready on their big day,” owner Joanna Bell said in an email at the time.
