After happening just once last year, Target returns with their car seat trade-in promotion.

Starting on Monday, the company will take back children car seats — including old and expired seats — at Target stores and give customers a 20% coupon good for a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear.

Customers with two car seats can can redeem the offer twice.

The coupon, though, is loaded onto the company’s Target Circle app, so customers need to sign up for the app. The coupon can be applied to in-store and online purchases and is eligible through May 1.

Target says it will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged.

Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Waste Management.

The company usually holds the trade-in events twice a year but did not hold one last spring because of the covid-19 pandemic.

The event returned in September and became more contactless, according to USA Today.

The event runs from Monday through Saturday, April 17.

Walmart has offered a trade-in event in the past, but they haven’t announced one recently.
