A McKnight Road shopping staple is closing in Ross.

Bed, Bath & Beyond announced plans to close 37 stores across the country, one of them in the busy North Hills shopping district.

New Jersey-based Bed, Bath & Beyond is a favorite destination for shoppers scouting housewares, small appliances and trendy items.

Two of the company’s stores in Pennsylvania are slated to close. The other is in York.

USA Today reported that the company plans to shutter the stores by the end of February.

The closings are part of a larger plan to focus on online shopping and move away from traditional brick-and-mortar locations.

The company first announced in July 2020 that it would close 200 stores, or about 20% of its locations.

Earlier this year, its anchor store in The Waterworks near Aspinwall closed.

Founded in 1971, the chain has about 750 locations across the country. Stores will remain in Monroeville, Cranberry and at The Waterfront in Homestead.
