Steel City Improv Theater is celebrating nine years this month, with a comedy binge set for 8-11:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at the 5950 Ellsworth Ave. theater in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood.

Eleven groups are slated to appear, including Cardboard DeVito, Street Roses and Hotel Nowhere, 8 p.m.; Classy & Relevant, Fauna, Flora & Falcon and The Social Experiment, 9 p.m.; Identity Crisis, Rat Out of Hell and Set in Stone, 10 p.m.; and Part Time Divas and The UNION, 11 p.m., theater representatives say.

Tickets, $15 in advance or $20 at the door, include one concession drink and snacks/finger foods.

Information can be found here.

The theater offers weekly shows, along with comprehensive and professional long-form improv comedy training.

Musical improv house team auditions, open to all improvisors age 18 and up, will be held 7-9 p.m. Jan. 17.

Those placed on a team must be familiar with long-form (musical) improv and have a minimum completion of SCIT Improv Level 2, SCIT Musical Improv 101 or equivalent training.
