Victory Brinker joining Latshaw Pops for Christmas show at The Palace
A Westmoreland County audience will have a chance to see “America’s Got Talent” veteran Victory Brinker live when she joins the Latshaw Pops Orchestra for a holiday concert at The Palace Theatre in Greensburg.
“The Sounds of Christmas” is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 5 in the theater.
Following the Sept. 15 “AGT” final, the 9-year-old classical crossover singer from Unity recorded her first EP, “The Wonder of Christmas.” Featuring four of her favorite songs, the EP was released Nov. 12 on digital and streaming platforms.
At The Palace, she will join the 22-piece orchestra conducted by Bruce Lauffer in a showcase of traditional holiday music, including medleys of carols, seasonal standards and gospel songs.
The evening also will include Christmas stories, audience participation, dance numbers and a visit from Santa Claus combined with the theme from “The Polar Express.”
In addition to Brinker, featured vocalists will be Donna Groom, the lead female voice of The Skyliners, and Frank Czuri, former longtime lead singer with Pure Gold. Ensemble members include Jeremy and Amy Frantz, Courtney Meade and Hayden Heiserman.
Most of the orchestra’s arrangements are done in-house by Ralph Guzzi, a Pittsburgh-based trumpeter, music educator and music director and arranger for the “My Music” series on PBS.
“It will be a comfortable blend of carols, endearing stories and the popular favorites that people expect to hear,” said producer Gary Latshaw of Latshaw Productions.
“We’ve done a Christmas show for more than 30 years, and some part of that show is in every one that we do,” he said. “Variety is the key. It’s a bit of a throwback — it’s designed to remind people of those old-time TV variety shows.”
Tickets for “The Sounds of Christmas” are $25-$35, available by calling 724-836-8000 or visiting thepalacetheatre.org.
