Reunited Blink-182 returning to Pittsburgh in May
Reunited and it feels so good for Blink-182 fans.
Multiplatinum, award-winning pop-punk rockers Blink-182 are embarking on an extensive tour next spring that will bring the group to PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on May 17. The show will feature Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker reuniting for the first time in nearly a decade.
Vocalist and guitarist DeLonge, a founding member of the group, has rejoined Blink-182 after departing the band in 2015. In the years since, DeLonge reportedly has been directing a sci-fi movie and searching for UFOs with his company To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 on www.blink182.com.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour includes Blink-182’s first-ever performances in Latin America before arriving in the U.S. in May. Hardcore band Turnstile will open the show.
The group also will make multiple festival appearances in Latin America and the U.S., including Lollapalooza with co-headliners Green Day, Billie Eilish and Drake among others.
Adding to the excitement, Blink-182 is releasing its new single “Edging” this Friday. It marks the first time in nearly 10 years that DeLonge, Hoppus and Barker have recorded together.
The band also is set to release a new album next year.
After forming in San Diego in the early ’90s, Blink-182 has gone on to sell more than 50 million albums worldwide. Their hit songs include “What’s My Age Again?” “All the Small Things,” “Dammit” and “I Miss You.” The band’s videos achieved regular air play on MTV.
The group’s awards include the MTV Video Music Award for Best Group and Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Band.
The New York Times wrote, “No punk band of the 1990s has been more influential than Blink-182.”
