Several big summer tours have already been postponed. The Rolling Stones, Reba McEntire, Ringo Starr, Roger Waters and others have postponed tours that were scheduled to swing through the Pittsburgh area.

One tour that is still set to go, at least according to Ticketmaster, is Motley Crue’s return tour that also features Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett.

The Stadium Tour, with 31-dates slated across the U.S. and world, including a stop at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Aug. 16, is slated to begin June 18 in Jacksonville, Fla.

It’s the Crue’s return to touring since their Final Tour in 2015, which was supposed to be their last. They even blew-up their retirement contract, saying the new fans are clamoring to see them live.

But will the show go on?

On Monday, Crue bassist Nikki Sixx in an Instagram post featuring him with his family, seemed to tone down thoughts of large gatherings saying, “Don’t worry about sports, concerts or getting back to your life before Covid 19 right now.”

He added that people should take care of themselves, “Don’t act as if you might get it, act as though you might have it and don’t know it. Protect everybody around you and most of all your family and loved ones.”

This comes after Crue drummer Tommy Lee insisted last week that the tour will still happen.

“Everything’s still a go,” Lee told Billboard. “We’re all in constant communication. [Bassist] Nikki [Sixx] and I have been in several production meetings. … That’s our mission right now, and it’s definitely headed in that direction.”

Lee added that the people are going stir-crazy being stuck at home and are looking forward to getting out and attending summer concerts.

“By the time all this … is over, I think everyone’s going to be in a really good mood to go out and have the … best time ever. I really do. I hope everyone stays inside, and we can get a … grip on this and get back to people having their normal lives.”

No official announcement has yet been made regarding the fate of the tour.

Motley Crue last played the Pittsburgh area in 2014 with a show in Burgettstown.
