Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett tour postponed
Fans will have to wait until next summer to see the Stadium Tour with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.
In a post on Monday afternoon signed by the bands, the tour has been officially postponed until the summer 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Here’s the full announcement:
“We wanted to continue to communicate with our fans and update you with valid information as it becomes available. The official decision has been made to move all 2020 North American Stadium Tour dates into the summer of 2021. The new stadium dates are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored for all postponed shows and refund policy information will be made available shortly.
“Stay tuned, be safe and we will see you next year.”
The message was posted on each of the band’s social media accounts. No information has been added to the Ticketmaster site.
The tour was set to start on June 18 in Jacksonville, Fla., with a stop at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Aug. 16.
The tour was promoted with fanfare in November with Motley Crue announcing that they were returning to the road. The Crue’s 2015 Final Tour was supposed to be the band’s last.
The band said last year’s Netflix bio-pic “The Dirt,” about the band’s formative years, sparked a renewed interest from younger fans who wanted to see them live.
Mötley Crüe lasted played First Niagara Pavilion in August 2014. Def Leppard played Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena in June 2018.
