Lionel Richie, Earth, Wind & Fire coming to Pittsburgh this summer
It’s been almost 40 years since Pittsburgh music fans could go all night long with Lionel Richie. That’ll be resolved June 16, when the multiple Grammy winner brings his Sing a Song All Night Long tour to PPG Paints Arena, accompanied by Earth, Wind & Fire.
Richie last played Pittsburgh in November 1986, with a pair of shows about three weeks apart at the Civic Arena. Richie, along with Mariah Carey, had been slated to play at PPG Paints Arena in 2017, but that show was canceled.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Richie is known for hits like “All Night Long (All Night),” “Hello,” “Dancing on the Ceiling” and “Say You, Say Me.” The former member of the Commodores also serves as a judge on ABC’s “American Idol.”
Tickets will become available with a variety of presales starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and then opening up to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com.
