Josh Turner brings traditional country to Palace Theatre
Described as a “disciple of traditional country music,” Josh Turner brings his signature baritone to town for a Nov. 9 show.
The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. in The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.
Turner’s 2003 debut album “Long Black Train” earned him platinum-selling status, with his 2017 release, “Deep South,” landing on Billboard’s No. 1 spot.
He has earned multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards nominations, and is the recipient of six Inspirational Country Music Awards, according to a release. Turner is one of the youngest members to receive induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
Among his most memorable hits are “Hometown Girl,” “Would You Go With Me,” “Your Man” and “Why Don’t We Just Dance.”
His newest project, “I Serve A Savior,” is garnering Nielsen’s Country Albums and Billboard’s Top Christian Albums placement.
The gospel collection includes classics such as “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Turner can now add author to his list of accomplishments, the release notes, with the 2014 publication of his first book, “Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family and Fatherhood.”
The book notes the Hannah, S.C., native has been writing songs and performing since childhood. Realizing the importance of arts’ education in schools, he is the creator of The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to assist students interested in pursuing a future in arts and music.
Opening for Turner in the Latshaw Productions show will be Robert Counts.
