Tina Turner, superstar singer and icon, died Wednesday at her home in Switzerland. She was 83.

Musicians, celebrities and fans quickly took to social media to post their thoughts and memories of the singer.

Singer Beyonce Knowles-Carter wrote on her website, “My beloved queen. I love you endlessly. I’m so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience. You are the epitome of power and passion. We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done.”

Angela Bassett, who portrayed Turner in the 1993 film, “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” shared “Turner showed others who lived in fear what a beautiful future filled with love, compassion, and freedom should look like. Her final words to me — for me — were ‘You never mimicked me. Instead, you reached deep into your soul, found your inner Tina, and showed her to the world.’”

Singer Mariah Carey wrote, “To me, she will always be a survivor and an inspiration to women everywhere. Her music will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in Peace, Queen.”

Singer Lizzo shared a clip of her onstage in Phoenix, Arizona, paying tribute to Turner.

R&B star Ciara wrote, “Thank you for the inspiration you gave us all.”

Diana Ross shared a photo with Turner.

Oprah Winfrey shared two posts on Instagram writing, “She is our forever goddess of rock ‘n’ roll who contained a magnitude of inner strength that grew throughout her life. She was a role model not only for me but for the world. She encouraged a part of me I didn’t know existed.”

Singer and actress Janelle Monae shared, “You are the true epitome of a rockstar that gave your all this lifetime. You inspire me to give mine.”

Musician Kim Gordon wrote “Turner the best performer ever. She sang and danced like her heart was going to explode.”

Debbie Harry of Blondie wrote “Tina was a great inspiration to me when I was starting out and remains so to this day. Love you Tina. RIP.”

Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O wrote: “you, my very first introduction to a rock Goddess, the sheer power of your irrepressible spirit seared in forever.”

Dionne Warwick remembered her friend.

Mick Jagger remembered Turner as wonderful friend and shared photos of them together.

Singer Bryan Adams, another singer who gained fame in the 80s, thanked her for bringing him on a tour.

John Fogerty, who wrote “Proud Mary,” which Turner covered in 1971, shared a video of Turner singing the hit song.

Elton John shared a photo on Instagram and wrote, “A total legend on record and on stage. She was untouchable.”

Performer Tom Jones share a photo and wrote that Turner was an “incredible woman, a genuine singer, a one of a kind talent.”

Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan called Turner “legendary.”

Viola Davis shared a clip of Turner performing.

Bette Midler wrote that Turner “was an absolutely brilliant performer and inspiration to us all.”

Maria Shriver wrote that “Turner was iconic, talented, and fierce.”

Mia Farrow called Turner “magnificent.”

Actor Forest Whitaker remembered Turner as icon.

President Joe Biden wrote that she was a once-in-a-generation talent.

Former President Barack Obama wrote Turner was “raw, powerful, unstoppable.”

Former President Bill Clinton wrote about meeting Turner at a show in 1984.

NASA tweeted a picture of a sparkling galaxy and wrote, “Her legacy will forever live among the stars.”

Magic Johnson wrote that Turner’s “legacy will continue on through all high-energy performing artists.”

Author Stephen King wrote “Simply the best.”
