Ligonier Valley Historical Society’s 28th annual Tastes of the Town food showcase is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 25 at Laurel Mountain Ski Resort in Ligonier Township.
Featured eateries serving appetizers, entrées, desserts and pastries include Carol and Dave’s Roadhouse, Connections Cafe, Eastwood Inn, Foggy Mountain Lodge and Restaurant, Green Gables Restaurant, The Kitchen on Main, Ligonier Giant Eagle, Ligonier Tavern and Table, Prantl’s Bakery, Roman’s Pizzeria and The Road Toad.
Tickets at $45 are available in Ligonier at Betsy’s of Ligonier and Post and Rail Men’s Shop, or at Ligonier Valley Historical Society in Laughlintown.
Attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite restaurant, with the winner receiving the Big Fork Award.
Winning raffle tickets also will be pulled at the event.
Tickets for a jewelry box raffle are available at the historical society and Conte Design in Ligonier. Only 100 tickets will be sold. The prize is a white pagoda-style jewelry box with a variety of necklaces, earrings and pins donated by local galleries and shops.
Also, 52 cards will be sold at $25 each for a playing card raffle, with three chances to win these prizes:
• “How Does Your Garden Grow?”: A dump truck load (10 yards) of garden mulch delivered to the winner’s home, along with various gardening accessories.
• “Entertainment & Cheer”: a 24-inch flat-screen smart TV and a variety of adult beverages and bar accessories.
• “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”: Two tickets to a Pittsburgh Pirates home game; transportation to and from the game and Pirates and other baseball collectibles.
Proceeds of the tasting event and raffles benefit the historical society, which operates the Compass Inn Museum.
