Pianist first up in The Westmoreland's spring jazz concert series
Jazz pianist Joshua Ben will open the Spring Jazz Concert Series with a March 11 performance in The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.
The music is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Concert-goers are invited to arrive early to explore the galleries and get a bite to eat from Café Marchand, all of which are open until 7 p.m. Cash bar will be available.
Based in Ligonier, Ben performs solo and with a variety of area musicians. He has shared stages with notable acts such as Rusted Root, Keller Williams, The Wailers and Lisa Marie Presley.
He studied at Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh and is a sales representative for Steinway & Sons pianos.
On his Facebook page, Ben lists Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Floyd Cramer and Jimmy Smith among his musical influences.
A ticket for the performance is $10, or $8 for museum members. Advance ticket purchase is recommended, as seating is limited.
