Latrobe Art Center has reopened its galleries to visitors, although in-person classes and special events will not resume until a later date. Here, Trish Sartoris (left) of Latrobe and Jeanne Bonifazi of Derry attend a Feb. 11, 2020, painting workshop at the center.

Latrobe Art Center is welcoming patrons back into its gallery. Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Ricolita’s Cafe in the center at 819 Ligonier St. also is open for takeout during the same hours.

The center will be following these protocols to maintain social distancing and CDC guidelines:

• Visitors will be asked to wear masks while in the galleries and cafe. Staff also will be wearing masks.

• Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the gallery and cafe space as needed.

• The number of visitors in the galleries will be limited.

• Merchandise returns will not be accepted at this time.

In-person classes and events have not yet resumed, but the center will have some virtual options.

One option is an online video in which renowned southwestern Pennsylvania oil painter Doreen Currie teaches how to make a bird’s nest. Students also can use acrylic or watercolor paints for this tutorial.

The cafe’s breakfast and lunch menus are listed on its website. Its Facebook page also lists daily specials, including dinner options.

To order by phone, call 724-539-8049.
