Fort Ligonier's ‘Tipsy History’ lesson to be online only
Editor’s note: On Thursday, Fort Ligonier announced that the in-person portion of Tipsy History has been canceled, and the event will be online only.
Join Fort Ligonier staff members for a drink and some straight talk about the French and Indian War during Tipsy History, billed as a “slightly tamer take” on Comedy Central’s “Drunk History,” in which inebriated storytellers recount historical events to comic effect.
The program for ages 18 and older will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, both in person and via Zoom.
Museum professionals will discuss French and Indian War topics that often are glossed over in typical historical lectures. The program will contain adult themes and language.
They may have “a drink or two” as they speak, says Julie Donovan, director of marketing and public relations.
For those attending in person, advance tickets are required. Due to social distancing protocols, space is limited and no tickets will be sold at the door. Masks will be required until guests are seated at individual small tables.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. at the historical complex at 200 S. Market St., Ligonier.
Those registering for online access will receive a Zoom link that will go live at 6:50 p.m. Friday.
Fee for the live event is $20, or $15 for fort members, which includes beer or wine. Zoom link ticket is $10.
