Kelly Clarkson will take over the time slot formerly occupied by “Ellen” on WTAE-TV’s afternoon lineup.

Trib Total Media TV writer Rob Owen offers viewing tips for the coming weeks.

Although 3 p.m. local newscasts have started popping up on local stations in some major markets, they’re not coming to Pittsburgh … yet.

WTAE-TV will replace the concluded “Ellen” at 3 p.m. weekdays with “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which relocates from late-night on WPXI-TV, effective Sept. 12.

Channel 4 will add the biggest-name new daytime series, “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” at 1:06 a.m. weekdays beginning Sept. 12. The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner will preside over celebrity interviews, topical stories, community hero introductions, viral sensations and music performances.

WTAE will also air reruns of “The Good Doctor” at 12:30 a.m. Monday beginning Sept. 18.

KDKA-TV

Channel 2’s weekday schedule stays intact with rebooted “Magnum P.I.” reruns replacing “Bull” reruns at 1:05 a.m. Sunday beginning Sept. 18.

WPCW-TV

Not a lot of changes at Pittsburgh’s CW affiliate.

Reruns of “The Neighborhood” replace reruns of “Mike & Molly” at 6 and 6:30 p.m. weekdays (Sept. 12) and at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 18).

Reruns of “American Housewife” replace “Two Broke Girls” at 11 and 11:30 p.m. weekdays (Sept. 12) and “Mom” at 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 18).

On weekends, rebooted “Magnum P.I.” reruns will air at 6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 17), replacing “S.W.A.T.” reruns that move to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Syndication newcomer “WOW – Women of Wrestling” airs at 11:30 p.m. Saturday effective Sept. 17 with a rerun at 12 a.m. Monday (Sept. 19). The series was created by the founder of GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling and one of the competitors, who goes by the name Chantilly Chella (Rachel Kelvington), grew up in Imperial and is a West Allegheny High School grad.

WPGH-TV

After decades on Channel 11, “Judge Judy” relocates to Channel 53, where reruns of the courtroom show, which is no longer in production, will air at 5 and 5:30 p.m. weekdays beginning Sept. 12.

WPGH also adds a new weather-focused edition of “The National Desk” at 9 a.m. weekdays beginning Sept. 26.

Game show “25 Words of Less” moves to Channel 53 at 10 a.m. beginning Sept. 12, where it will be paired with the new “Pictionary” at 10:30 a.m. starting the same day. Jerry O’Connell hosts the “Pictionary” revival that features celebrity captains (Ross Matthews, Natalie Morales, Loni Love) leading two teams of three players who draw clues for their teammates who try to guess the word or phrase being drawn. (“The Good Dish,” a “Dr. Oz” spin-off which previously aired at 10 a.m., was canceled.)

New talk show “Karamo,” hosted by “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown replaces the canceled “Judge Jerry” at 1 p.m. beginning Sept. 19. Taped in Stamford, Conn., the one-hour program will cover daytime talk show staples like infidelity, race, parenting and family dynamics.

“Maury” relocates from 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12, replacing the canceled “Nick Cannon.”

On weekends “Nittany Game Week” already returned at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

WPNT-TV

“Karamo” will also air at 10 a.m. on Channel 22 beginning Sept. 19.

Newcomer “iCrime,” hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, uses video clips captured on cell phones to tell true crime stories. “iCrime” will air at 10 p.m. starting Sept. 12 and 10:30 p.m. starting Sept. 26 weeknights.

On Saturday, WPNT adds “The Rookie” reruns (4 p.m. starting Sept. 17) and “Chicago P.D.” reruns (8 p.m. starting Oct. 8).

On Sunday “Chicago P.D.” reruns air at 12 p.m. beginning Sept. 25 with “The Rookie” at 5 p.m. starting Sept. 18 and “9-1-1” reruns at 6 (Sept. 25) and 10 p.m. (Sept. 18).

WPXI-TV

Comic actress Sherri Shepherd (“Trial Error”) hosts “Sherri” (11 a.m. weekdays, beginning Sept. 12), replacing the canceled “Wendy Williams Show.” “Sherri” will offer comedic takes on entertainment news, pop culture and trending topics along with celebrity interviews and inspirational stories.

When “Days of Our Lives” relocates from NBC to Peacock on Sept. 12, Channel 11 will carry “NBC News Daily” at 1 p.m. weekdays.

With “Judge Judy” reruns moving to WPGH-TV, new series “Ring Nation” (3 p.m. beginning Sept. 26), a controversial comedy hosted by Wanda Sykes, features footage from Ring doorbells and smart home cameras. “Ring Nation” will pair with “Jeopardy!” (3:30 p.m.) reruns from the 2021-22 TV season beginning Sept. 12, which will lead into Channel 11’s 4 p.m. newscast. (During a two-week, between-seasons gap, “Just for Laughs,” a hidden camera comedy, will fill the 3 p.m. time slot.)

In late night, “Pawn Stars” reruns (3 a.m.) and “National News Tonight” (3:30 a.m.) take the place of the departing “Kelly Clarkson Show” beginning Monday.

On weekends, “Forensic Files” reruns will air at 4 a.m. Saturday and “Wheel of Fortune” weekend edition will air at 4:30 a.m. effective Sept. 10. (“Forensic Files” will also air at 4:30 a.m. Sunday starting Sept. 11.)

Beginning Sept. 10, weekend “Jeopardy!” moves to 7 p.m. Saturday with “The Jerome Bettis Show” returning at 7:30 p.m.
