Trib Total Media TV writer Rob Owen answers reader questions every Wednesday at TribLive.com in a column that also appears in the Sunday Tribune-Review.

Q: What happened to WPXI-TV reporter Angie Moreschi?

— Diane, White Hall

Rob: I reported in January that she left Channel 11 and took a job with Sinclair Broadcast Group in Washington, D.C., on the company’s “Spotlight on America” investigative team. Pittsburghers can still see her reports, which air on Sinclair’s “The National Desk” news programs on Channels 22 and 53 and possibly even on Pittsburgh’s Sinclair-owned, WPXI-produced WPGH-TV 10 p.m. newscast.

Q: Bill Hillgrove is an outstanding radio sports broadcaster. Recently, Pitt was playing basketball in Miami. I had the game on television on the ACC Sports Network but turned the sound off so I could hear Bill Hillgrove’s play-by-play broadcast on the radio. However, the sound on the radio was at least 15 seconds ahead of the play-by-play shown on television. Could you explain why the audio on the radio was so far ahead of what was being shown on television?

— Kevin, Scott Township

Rob: TV broadcasts of live events often have a delay which could be technical — the signal going up to the satellite, down from the satellite — but also can be purposeful (to allow time to bleep any profanity that may occur).

Q: I’m a huge fan of “Will Trent.” It’s the best show I’ve seen in years. How is it doing in the ratings and any idea if it will get a second season? My last three ABC favorites — “Deception,” “Whiskey Cavalier” and “Stumptown” — all got canceled after one season.

— Mike, via Twitter

Rob: Ratings-wise “Will Trent” is doing so-so with the TV Grim Reaper saying its ratings are borderline for renewal.

But my sense is ABC is pulling for “Will Trent” given that I saw two promos for it during ABC’s Oscars telecast, a high-profile TV event where networks want to highlight shows they have confidence in. In contrast, I saw no promos for “Alaska Daily.” So of those two series, my sense is ABC has higher hopes for “Will Trent” to continue. A decision on “Will Trent’s” future likely will be made by mid-May.

Q: I’m a fan of the “Midsomer Murders” series. The newest season (23), started this year on Acorn. It was supposed to have six episodes. The first four aired as promised, but episodes five and six never did.

I’m reading differing information such as the other two will eventually air and also that now there will only be the four episodes that already aired.

Do you have any info?

— Jerry, Greensburg

Rob: Per an Acorn.tv representative, season 23 has just four episodes. There’s some confusion stemming from the UK rollout (which hasn’t finished season 22), but season 23 was just four episodes and all have streamed.

Q: Why is TCM cutting the Eddie Muller “Film Noir” series? Will he still host on TCM or are they dumping him all together?

— Peter, via email

Rob: The show and its host aren’t going anywhere. “Noir Alley” was pre-empted in March for “31 Days of Oscar” and in April for the 100th anniversary celebration of Warner Bros., but it will return May 6 with the 1949 film “The File on Thelma Jordan.”
