Q: What’s up with Channel 11 meteorologist Jessica Faith? I haven’t seen her on air in weeks.

— Lisa, via email

Rob: That’s because she left WPXI-TV. I reported in April that Faith took a job at a TV station in Washington, D.C.

Channel 11 hired a new meteorologist, Adis Juklo, in May.

Q: There are rumors that TCM is going to be shut down amid personnel layoffs. Please say it isn’t so.

— Peter, via Facebook

Rob: It isn’t so – at least for now.

Though Warner Bros. Discovery will shut down a U.K. version of TCM this week, the channel will continue as a cable staple in the United States.

But there is reason for some concern, given that WBD jettisoned most of the brain trust with a history of stewardship of the channel. That prompted Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Paul Thomas Anderson to meet with WBD CEO David Zaslav. Afterwards they released a statement saying, “We are heartened and encouraged by the conversations we’ve had thus far, and we are committed to working together to ensure the continuation of this cultural touchstone that we all treasure.”

The latest word is that WBD has reversed course, at least somewhat, bringing back dismissed longtime TCM programmer Charles Tabesh.

Still, Vulture suggests continued concern about the future of TCM remains warranted due to continued pressure on cable outlets as cord cutting accelerates.

Q: Wondering if you have any information on when “Masters of the Air” will finally be released by AppleTV+? It seems to have been delayed multiple times. Never a good sign.

— Chris, Arlington, Va.

Rob: “Masters of the Air,” about the crew of American Bombers in WWII, is a follow-up to “The Pacific” and “Band of Brothers” and while it has been in development since shortly after 2010’s “The Pacific,” Apple never announced a premiere date so it’s not an accurate characterization to consider the series delayed.

My understanding is it will debut in the next year or so.

Q: I read last summer that Buddy Valastro had cut ties with Food Network and cut a deal with A&E, including new shows and a holiday movie. I haven’t seen any updates. Does he have a new show, and if so when/where is it airing? And will it follow the “Cake Boss” format? I liked seeing his family and other workers from Carlo’s Bakery.

— Jeanine, Cecil

Rob: Valastro’s new A&E shows are coming, just not until fall.

In “Legends of the Fork,” Valastro travels the country searching for renowned American dishes and restaurants to uncover the secrets of their success.

Returning to the bakery, “Cake Dynasty” (working title), follows Valastro and his family as they bring the Carlo’s cake empire to new levels.

Additionally, Valastro is set to host new competition series, “Cake Toppers” (working title), where talented bakers are pitted against one another to craft creative cakes – then the tables are turned.
