Where did WTAE-TV daytime mainstays “Dr. Oz” and “Tamron Hall” go?

Trib Total Media TV writer Rob Owen answers reader questions every Wednesday at TribLive.com in a column that also appears in the Sunday Tribune-Review.

Q: What happened to Tamron Hall’s show on WTAE? It’s not on in the afternoon anymore.

— Jean via voicemail

Rob: When WTAE started a 4 p.m. newscast in July, it set off a raft of programming changes. “Ellen” moved to 3 p.m., which pushed “Tamron Hall” to 10 a.m.

Q: What happened to “Dr. Oz” on Channel 4? It just disappeared with no explanation from the station?

— James via Facebook

Rob: “Dr. Oz” was the odd show out in the changes wrought by the addition of a 4 p.m. newscast, moving from 10 a.m. to 1:05 a.m.

But there is some good news for disappointed “Dr. Oz” viewers like James: The show will move to 10 a.m. weekdays on WPGH-TV starting Aug. 30.

Q: I was a huge fan of “The Mole” when it premiered back in the early 2000s. I saw the first two seasons are now streaming on Netflix and I read an uncredible internet report that Netflix is filming a new season of “The Mole” in Australia. Can you reach out to Netflix and find out if Netflix is serious about bringing back “The Mole”?

— John via email

Rob: While there are a lot of inaccuracies and falsehoods on the internet, this is not one of them. Netflix is producing a new edition of “The Mole.” Your best source for all reality TV news — and he’s a fan of “The Mole,” too — is Andy Dehnart’s RealityBlurred.com, which reported on the show filming in Australia and more on its new season for Netflix. No word on when the new “Mole” will debut on the streaming service.

Q: In Pioneer Woman’s family who is Jamar?

— Judy via email

Rob: Jamar is Ree “Pioneer Woman” Drummond’s foster son.

Q: What’s the location of the scenery in Netflix’s series “Virgin River”? It’s some of the most spectacular and beautiful scenery on TV. Where was the series filmed?

— Wash, Greensburg

Rob: It shoots scenes about an hour from Vancouver. The exterior shots of the town are filmed at Snug Cove on Bowen Island and Port Coquitlam in British Columbia, Canada.

Q: Eldest son Miles Raney has not been on the show “Homestead Rescue: Raney Ranch” recently. During covid when the entire Raney Family was at the 40-acre home site, Miles was missing. Any specific reason he is not involved in the show?

— CCB via email

Rob: My understanding is Miles has not appeared on the show recently because he is not a regular cast member on “Raney Ranch.” Whether that is his choice or the producer’s choice is unclear.

Q: I’m the latest groupie of “Any Day Now” which is broadcast on Start TV (Channel 2.2) here in Pittsburgh. I wanted to purchase the DVDs to get caught up. I can’t find them anywhere. I even contacted Amazon (which has everything) and they don’t have them and don’t know if they will ever have them. Help! Any suggestions?

— Dorian via email

Rob: “Any Day Now” was a terrific little drama that aired on Lifetime (1998-2002) starring Annie Potts and Lorraine Toussaint as two friends who recalled their friendship in the present and in the past.

It appears the show was never released on DVD — or if it was, it’s long out of print — so an official DVD release is not available but unofficial copies — who knows what the quality is like — can be found online by searching for the show title and “on DVD.”
