Only hours left to binge 'Friends' on Netflix

So 2019 is winding down.

For most people that means a new year, a new start, a hopeful outlook.

But for “Friends” fans with Netflix, it’s doomsday.

Luckily for those of us on the East Coast, we will have until 3 a.m. to feast on the exploits of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Ross and Chandler. That’s because Netflix’s corporate offices are in California. So, as of midnight PT, the NBC series ends its run on Netflix.

That means as of noon Dec. 31, there would only be 900 minutes of streaming left.

With the average episode running about 22-23 minutes, that’s only about 40 episodes possible to watch. (That’s out of 236 total.)

Netflix was set to lose “Friends” at the end of 2018, but then agreed to pay $100 million for a one-year extension.

But happens on Jan. 1? Well, there won’t be anywhere to stream the series until it launches on WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, which starts in May.

Of course, there are other options. The series is available on DVD ($99 for the 10 season box set). And the show still airs in syndication (read: old-school TV).

Or you could pay to watch the show on iTunes — episodes are $2.99 ($139.99 gets you all seasons). On YouTube, each episode costs $1.99 ($19.99 per season).

“Friends” debuted on Netflix in 2015 and quickly became one of the most streamed shows in history.

Not bad for a show that ended in 2004.

Not to pile on, but “Fraiser” is leaving at 3 a.m. on Netflix also.
