Actress Viola Davis tweeted about riding Kennywood’s Steel Curtain roller coaster on July 28. Here people take a July 12 preview ride before the coaster opened to the public on July 13, 2019.

List Viola Davis among fans of Kennywood’s new Steel Curtain roller coaster.

After taking a spin (or nine) Sunday, the Academy Award-winning actress tweeted that the two-minute, 76-mph ride with nine inversions is “awesome.”

I am so glad you had a fantastic time. I rode Steel Curtain last week. Still can't believe I did 9 inversions. It was a blast.

Davis is in town to film an adaptation of the late Pittsburgh playwright August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” for Netflix. Her co-star is Chadwick Boseman, T’Challa from Marvel’s blockbuster movie, “Black Panther.”

“Ma Rainey” is one of 10 plays in Wilson’s “Pittsburgh Cycle” — although it’s the only one not set in Pittsburgh. Taking place in Chicago in the 1920s, the play tracks tensions that arise in a recording studio among the title character, her white agent and producer, her entourage and the other musicians.

The play won the 1985 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best American Play.

Davis won her Oscar for the 2016 film adaptation of another Wilson play, “Fences.”

Looks like she’s getting a warm Western Pennsylvania welcome.

My wife is a huge fan!! Will you have dinner with us ?

The Steel Curtain has set records as Pennsylvania’s tallest roller coaster and for having North America’s most inversions and for having the world’s tallest inversion.
