The December Steel City Con has been rescheduled for April. Here, cosplayers attend a 2019 Steel City Con 2019 at Monroeville Convention Center.

The Steel City Con planned for December has been rescheduled for April at the Monroeville Convention Center.

“Steel City Con has decided it is in the best interests for the health and safety our vendors, staff, celebrities and fans to postpone our December event until April 9-11, 2021,” according to a release. “Following the wishes of a majority of our fans and vendors who recently voiced their opinion during a recent Facebook post, we will wait until April for our show.

“We were able to secure the same celebrity guest list, and we hope April’s show will come with increased capacity and less overall restrictions, which should make for a more enjoyable and safe show for all,” the release says, noting that the new dates do not conflict with Tekko in 2021.

For those holding tickets, the date of tickets in Showclix will automatically be transferred from Dec. 4-6 to April 9-11. For ticket-holders unable to make the April event, Steel City Con will honor their tickets at a future 2021 event.

VIP packages and pre-sold autographs also will be transferred. In the event that celebrities cannot make the April event, those packages will be refunded.

Photo ops also will be automatically transferred to the April show. If the preferred celebrity guest cannot attend, the photo op can be transferred to a new guest as a credit on the Growtix confirmation page, where photo ops can be swapped and managed. For assistance with a photo op, email Wolf Studios Photography at info@wolfstudiosphotography.com.

All celebrity guests for the December show were able to move to April. Jason Faunt, David Barclay, Kane Hodder, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julian Glover will be accommodated based on availability sometime in 2021, the release says.

Tickets for the April event will remain discounted for an indefinite period of time.
