Mitzi McCall was born in Pittsburgh in 1930, and she died in Los Angeles last week.
She lived one heck of a life in the nearly 94 years in between those dates, making a name for herself as a comedian and actress.
McCall, 93, worked alongside her husband, Charlie Brill, famously sharing the stage alongside the Beatles in 1964. In later years, she had appearances on shows such as “Seinfeld,” where she played the wife of Jerry’s dry cleaner.
According to Entertainment Weekly, McCall’s representative said she died Aug. 8 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. No cause of death was reported.
“Mitzi McCall’s life was a testament to the power of laughter, and her influence on the world of comedy will be remembered for years to come,” a statement from the representative shared with the site read. “Her legacy will live on through the countless laughs she inspired and the doors she opened for future generations.”
Entertainment Weekly said that McCall’s career began in Pittsburgh where she worked in production for the show, “Strange Bedfellow,” at the Pittsburgh Playhouse in 1948. The site said she also hosted a children’s TV show, “Kiddie Castle,” in Pittsburgh in the 1950s.
She moved to Hollywood in the mid ’50s, per the site, and her IMDB credits were long with appearances on such shows as “The Twilight Zone,” “Silk Stalkings,” “Hannah Montana,” “Dharma & Greg,” “Ellen” and “Roseanne.”
She also had credits for many popular cartoons including the “Flintstones” and “Scooby Doo,” and as a comedian, she performed on such shows as “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.”
