New 'Ghostbusters' trailer debuts online
“Ghostbusters” fans are beaming as the first full trailer for Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” landed online Monday morning.
And it looks pretty impressive.
The story follows a mom and her two kids as they inherit an old farm in a small town. Strange happenings begin occurring around the town. Meanwhile, the kids uncover a cache of original Ghostbuster equipment around the property.
The movie stars Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon. It also includes Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) and Mckenna Grace as the kids. While nothing is confirmed, both of them look incredibly like original Ghostbuster Egon Spengler.
Hmmm.
While they don’t appear in the trailer (at least as their modern selves), Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver are expected to reprise their roles.
Reitman, the son of the original film’s director Ivan Reitman, has said his film is a direct sequel to 1989’s “Ghostbusters II” and has no connection to the 2016 all-female reboot.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is slated for July 10, 2020.
