Netflix renews 'Dead to Me' for second season
When we last saw Jen and Judy on “Dead to Me,” they were poolside dealing with a rather difficult situation. (No spoilers here)
Audiences will get the chance to see what happens next, because Netflix announced Monday the popular series will get a second season, People reports.
Both of its stars — Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini — will return, along with creator/showrunner Liz Feldman.
As far as Season 2, Feldman recently told Entertainment Weekly, “What I will say is that it will be about the further exploration of this friendship, and relationship, and now very complicated dynamic, or even more complicated dynamic between these two women. … What I wanted to do was create a situation where they’re forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season 1.”
The show’s first season follows Jen (Applegate), a sardonic widow, as she attempts to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. The two women meet at a support group and become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities.
