'Mrs. Maisel's' Rachel Brosnahan in Pittsburgh for new film

A few weeks after plans were announced for Emmy-winning actress Rachel Brosnahan to film in Pittsburgh, shooting on “I’m Your Woman” is under way.

The star of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and formerly of “House of Cards,” Brosnahan is playing a woman who must flee with her child due to her husband’s crimes, according to imdb.com

Brosnahan retweeted a Variety article noting cast members have been added and filming has commenced in Pittsburgh.

After putting out a casting call a few weeks ago, the film’s producers are now seeking cars from 1979 and older, according to the Pittsburgh Film Office.

“I’m Your Woman,” is looking for all vehicles from the year 1979 and older for scenes in the film! ??

Earlier this month, PennDOT officials announced a road detour in North Apollo in November due to the film’s work in the area.

Amazon Studios is scheduled to use part of the borough as a rural backdrop on Nov. 6 and 7, leading motorists along a portion of Route 66 onto a Hickory Nut Road detour.

Film publicist Alex Worman says in an email that filming is expected to continue in the area through Dec. 16.

“Unfortunately, I can’t reveal in advance where we will be filming, although it’s entirely in the Pittsburgh metro region,” she says.

Worman says Point Breeze was one early location site.

“Pittsburgh was chosen for the look and period of the architecture, the fall landscape and the strong local filmmaking talent and infrastructure (including the Pittsburgh film incentive),” she adds.

“Dawn Keezer (the director) and the whole Pittsburgh Film Office have been very helpful,” Worman says.

The drama is scheduled for release in 2020.
