What to do while the theater you own is shuttered during the covid-19 quarantine? Leigh Ann McCulty, owner of Ligonier’s Diamond Theatre, decided to make her own movie.

The result, “Quarantime,” is available now for viewing on YouTube.

As the name suggests, the 30-minute film takes a light-hearted look at the trials and tribulations of surviving the shutdown.

McCulty, who creates original plays for the theater, was joined in the endeavor by her son Lanigan McCulty, 15, and what the opening credits describe as a cast of “local D-List actors.”

“This film was a fun project and allowed us to enjoy doing theater from home,” Leigh Ann McCulty says. “It was interesting to send scripts out and only be to be able to direct through emails or video chat.

“Everyone filmed on different devices in different locations,” she says.

Lanigan filmed and directed some scenes and played some of the music.

“He worked with over 600 video clips from our actors and edited it all,” McCulty says.

McCulty invites “Quarantime” viewers to like, share and leave a positive comment on the movie’s YouTube link to be entered into a drawing for a VIP package to a movie at the theater, once it reopens.

The package includes two free “Sweet Seat” tickets, two small popcorns, two sodas and two candies. Sweet Seats must be reserved in advance.

McCulty says the winner will be chosen on Mother’s Day, May 10.
