Think you can you endure 13 classic films from master horror teller Stephen King?
Perhaps $1,300 would make you a little less afraid.
With Halloween approaching and two new King-inspired films hitting theaters (“It: Chapter 2” and “Doctor Sleep”), retailer USDish is throwing down the gauntlet (and putting up the cash) to find one viewer willing to sit through 13 movies based on King’s most chilling novels.
The winner will have until Halloween night to watch all 13. Which movies will they have have to sit through?
“Carrie” (original or 2013 remake, your pick) “Children of the Corn” “Christine” “Creepshow” “Cujo” “Dreamcatcher” “It” (original or 2017 remake) “The Mist” “Pet Sematary” (original or 2019 remake) “Salem’s Lot” “The Shining” “Thinner” “Misery”
Not only do you get the money, but the mission comes with a “Stephen King survival kit,” which includes a flashlight, blanket, movie-watching snacks, an Amazon gift card, and a FitBit — you know, to track how high you move on those jump scares.
The person selected will be required to take notes — most likely through social media — on how the movies are affecting them.
Applicants don’t need to pass a drug test or a background check, but they do have to be 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.
