Company offers $1,000 to binge 25 hours of 'Friends'
Geez, there’s just not enough “Friends” news in the news these days.
Surely, that’s what you were thinking, right?
Well, here’s some more: In honor of the hit NBC series’ 25th anniversary, Frontier Communications is offering a lucky fan $1,000 to binge-watch the show for 25 hours.
That works out to about 60 episodes. (Of course, some people might not think that’s a lot.)
Frontier, a telecommunications company, just asks that the binging be completed before Sept. 22, the anniversary of the show’s premiere.
Of course, just watching the show won’t be enough. The viewer will be required to tweet during the binge. And when it’s completed, they will have to tweet a photo of them and their own friends celebrating the day.
The company is taking applications through Sept. 3. What they’re looking for are true fans, “who know the quotes (‘PIVOT!!’), the hilarious scenarios (the beef in the trifle; the Holiday Armadillo), and all the little details (exactly how many sisters does Joey have? What is Chandler’s job?) that make the show the tried and true classic it is.”
Having a Twitter account with plenty of followers is also a good thing. Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 18 and older will be considered.
The winner gets the cash, a year’s subscription to Netflix, a “Friends” T-shirt, Central Perk mug, popcorn and treats.
Seriously, isn’t it just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?
