Pittsburgh Fringe seeks short-story tellers for StorySlam
Have a compelling short (five minutes) story you would like to share with a live audience?
As part of its upcoming festival, Pittsburgh Fringe will hold a “StorySlam” open mic competition at 10:30 p.m. April 6 at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh, 120 S. Whitfield St., East Liberty.
The festival features international, national and local artists in multiple venues April 4-7 in Pittsburgh’s East End, showcasing theater (physical, street and musical), comedy, visual arts, puppetry, family entertainment, music, dance, spoken word, opera, poetry, literature and more.
The StorySlam theme is “Rebellion.”
Of the would-be storytellers who sign up in advance online and attend the event, 10 will be randomly selected to appear before an audience waiting to hear a well-told tale.
Storytellers need to arrive, show ticket and be checked in by 10 p.m., according to a Pittsburgh Fringe release.
General admission is $8; Fringe button discount admission is $5.
