Calling all blockheads, pop-up Brick Bar lets adults be kids again

Mary Pickels

Remember stepping on your kids’ upturned Lego blocks — in bare feet? Not so fun.

But if you’ve missed building towers, castles and ships with colorful building blocks, here’s your chance.

Just be sure to wear shoes.

The pop-up Brick Bar comes to Pittsburgh June 28-30, at a venue to be announced.

According to a release from karmaramapr.com, more than one million blocks will be used to assemble a nostalgic return to childhood. The bar will feature sculptures built from Lego bricks, along with plenty of blocks for patrons to design their own creations.

Local DJs will spin tunes and bartenders will craft adult beverages, the release adds.

If those colorful structures whet your appetite, a menu including Brick Burgers will be available.

The best builders can compete for prizes, and a table tennis competition will be played on a table built with more than 22,000 Lego bricks.

Tickets are $25.
