“That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody” debuted off-Broadway in 2016 with puppeteers controlling the four main characters — Rose, Dorothy, Sophia, and Blanche.

Those four pals from Miami are back — well, sort of.

A live stage version of the ’80s sitcom “The Golden Girls” is headed to Pittsburgh’s Byham Theater — only with puppets.

The show, “That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody,” debuted off-Broadway in 2016 with puppeteers (in full view of the audience) controlling the four main characters — Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose.

The performances will be 8 p.m. Oct. 11 and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 12.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller and Thomas Duncan-Watt, the show parodies classic “Golden Girls” moments on a set that copies the NBC sitcom.

As the show’s official release puts it: “From Sophia’s get-rich-quick schemes to Rose’s tales from St. Olaf, from Blanche’s insatiable hunt for men and the Fountain of Youth to Dorothy’s daily struggle to make sense of her life and manage her roommates—all the while fending off a certain pesky ex-husband, once and for all.”

A word of warning: The 90-minute, intermission-less performance contains strong adult language and themes.

Tickets — which are $25, $35, and $50 — are available on the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s website.
