Kanye West says he’s running for president in 2020
The debate stage could be a little more crowded as President Donald Trump and presumptive Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden may have to make room for musician Kanye West.
The rapper posted a message on Twitter Saturday night saying he is joining the race.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he wrote. “I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION”

The post on the Fourth of July set off its own fireworks with nearly 450,000 retweets and 920,000 likes.
Kim Kardashian West, his wife, quote-tweeted the post with the American flag.
Elon Musk replied to West’s tweet posting, “You have my full support.”
Perhaps Musk wants to join the ticket? West posted a photo of the pair together last week.
West has made headlines for his support of Trump and visiting him at the White House. And in the past West has made several declarations of his desire to run for the highest seat in the nation.
While West may be serious about his presidential bid, he still has to actually file to run for the office, according to reports.
The rapper has a new album, “God’s Country,” coming, though no release date, yet. Its first single, “Wash Us in the Blood,” was released this week.
He also announced recently that he is teaming up with Gap to create a clothing line called Yeezy Gap, which will be introduced in the first half of 2021.
