Jeff Goldblum's vaccine photo post stirs confusion
With his particular flair, Jeff Goldblum shared a message on social media that he recently received the covid-19 vaccine.
The 68-year-old actor, a native of West Homestead, shared a photo of himself wearing a plush robe, black athletic pants and leopard-print slippers. He also wore a mask. This was all while standing by a pool and tropical plants accompanied by a health care worker.
But the photo he posted Tuesday led to confusion among some commenters, who assumed Goldblum had received the vaccine at home.
The caption explains, “As a citizen well into my platinum years, I got my first dose of the vaccine through the LA County Department of Health, at a public vaccination site where I waited in line with other 65+ eligible citizens.”
And he also explained that he was getting a standard test before a film shoot, as per film production protocols in Los Angeles.
To try to clear up the confusion, Goldblum later shared an Instagram story with a video of him getting the actual vaccine.
“Apologies to anyone who misunderstood yesterday’s post. That was a routine covid test organized by a production I was shooting the next day, following all filming protocols in place in Los Angeles,” says the text on the video.
“I got my vaccine at a county site at USC last week, where I waited with all the other 65+ citizens who are now eligible for vaccinations in California.”
Last year Goldblum reprised his “Jurassic Park” role and was part of the filming of “Jurassic World: Dominion” — which is set to be released in June 2022.
Co-star Sam Neill shared that Goldblum would often badger the director with about 50 suggestions about the film.
“Colin Trevorrow, who’s a lovely guy and a really good director, he was very open to suggestions. Jeff would come to work with about 50 suggestions that drive us crazy every day, God bless him,” Neill said in a recent interview with ET.
“I love Jeff, but boy, does he have a lot of ideas! Laura (Dern) and I would come up with things, as well, and Collin was very open to that. We’ll see how many of those things make it to the cut!”
At last year’s Oscars, Goldblum and some other Pittsburghers shared an epic photo.
In 2019, his voice was added to greet visitors at the Carnegie Science Center’s Buhl Planetarium & Observatory before planetarium shows, laser shows, and SkyWatch programming.
