British TV personality Caroline Flack, the host controversial reality TV show ‘Love Island,’ has died aged 40, according to a statement from her family.

British coroners stated Wednesday that former “Love Island” host Caroline Flack’s death was ruled a suicide by hanging, according to multiple outlets.

Flack was found dead Saturday at her home in London.

Her family originally confirmed her passing with Britain’s Press Association saying, We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.”

About two months before her death, police responded to Flack’s home based on reports that a man had been assaulted. The injured man was Flack’s boyfriend, tennis player Lewis Burton.

Flack left “Love Island” in December and was scheduled to stand trial in March on assault charges.

In a previously unreleased message, Flack denied that she domestically abused Burton, and called the incident an “accident.”
