Horror writer Stephen King has quit Facebook, saying he is not comfortable with the political advertising on the platform.
In a post on Twitter on Friday, King stated, “I’m quitting Facebook. Not comfortable with the flood of false information that’s allowed in its political advertising, nor am I confident in its ability to protect its users’ privacy.”
He invited users to follow him and his Corgi, Molly, on Twitter.
According to CNN, King’s Facebook page was deleted from the social media site.
72-year-old King has been very outspoken against President Trump and Facebook. He has 5.6 million followers on Twitter.
I'm quitting Facebook. Not comfortable with the flood of false information that's allowed in its political advertising, nor am I confident in its ability to protect its users' privacy. Follow me (and Molly, aka The Thing of Evil) on Twitter, if you like.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 1, 2020
